Winchelsea entered three teams in Sleaford School cricket tournaments earlier this month.  On Tuesday 20th May the team representing the year 5 and 6 girls played at Caythorpe Cricket Club. Many of the girls have only just started playing and after some determined play and a steep learning curve played in all six matches. Despite losing them all they had some close results and played with great enthusiasm and determination. As many of the team are from year 5 we expect great thing next year!

On the Thursday a team of boys from years 3, 4 and 5 played in the year 5 tournament. Many of the team have been attending the after school cricket club and there is great enthusiasm and skill on display every Tuesday evening. The team played against teams from much bigger schools and a mixture of accurate bowling and fantastic fielding meant that the boys won their group- an amazing achievement. Unfortunately, they were beaten in the knock out stage but managed to win five out of their six matches.

On Friday, the year six tournament was played at Caythorpe and we entered a team of year five and six boys. After an incredible days cricket the boys batted, bowled and fielded with great skill and determination resulting in the team winning the tournament with an unbeaten record and many victories by huge margins!
