Our fantastic gardening club is back for 2014!
We have 15 excited budding gardeners joining the club this year, ranging from Y1 to Y6. We have lots of exciting activities planned for the children outside in the allotment area and inside the mobile classroom. The children will have the chance to learn all about crop rotation, composting, different growing cycles and sustainability. As well as learning how to grow healthy fruit and vegetables, the children will also get the chance to sample their hard work when we harvest our crops.
Following a successful bid by Mrs Rowlands, we are now the proud owners of a brand new greenhouse, electric propagators and three composters. We can’t wait to start using them.
Last week we made cress caterpillars, planted our seed potatoes and got lots of weeding done – it was hard work, but the children loved it!
