Breakfast Club Aims

Breakfast Club is about making new friends, talking to other children and adults at the start of the day. For children (and staff!) who need to come round slowly in a morning, we have board games, Lego and quiet pastimes such as 1:1 reading or crafting (such as cutting, sticking, drawing, painting, playdough) or using the ICT suite with an adult.  For children who like to be active, they can let off steam by playing dodgeball, bench ball, hockey, table tennis, football, skipping and playground games—outside preferably but weather dependent.  Children choose their own activities and are supervised by staff, but they are expected to tidy up after themselves, putting away the toys and tidying their crockery and cutlery after eating.  Everyone gets involved and helps each other out when these jobs have been done.  Our children might have an early start to the day, but they go into class happy, relaxed and ready to learn.
