'All individuals matter'
At Winchelsea Primary School, we teach RE in accordance with the Lincolnshire Agreed Syllabus and Understanding Christianity. We believe that it is important for all children to learn about a range of faiths and backgrounds in order to develop compassion, empathy and tolerance, giving our children a firm foundation upon which to acknowledge differences in beliefs.
Our lessons will provoke challenging questions about meaning and purpose in life, beliefs about God, ultimate reality, issues of right and wrong and what it means to be human. We will encourage pupils to learn about religious and non-religious world views in order to discover, explore and consider different answers to these questions.
