'All individuals matter' 

At Winchelsea Primary School, we prioritise wellbeing and pastoral care. 

Mrs Dunham is our ELSA trained Learning Mentor. Mrs Dunham is able to support with a number of wellbeing and pastoral needs. She works closely with the Safeguarding and Mental Health Support Team to ensure the needs of all children in our school are met. She is also a member of our Early Help Team.

Mrs Dunham has a calming space filled with a variety of resources, fidgets, stories, love and care. Children may appear for some advice, they may be invited for one-to-one sessions or group activities such as 'friendship club'. 

Lunchtime Lounge

During lunchtimes, we have a special place called 'Lunchtime Lounge' where children can access a range of sensroy experiences, support and play to help them regulate and enjoy free time in school. 

Behaviour and Pastoral Support 

We also have external support from Needbright Solutions. Anna Needham works with both children and staff in variety of ways to enhance our pastoral offer and support our children to attend school regulalry, keep safe and regulate.
