School Admissions
School Admissions are co-ordinated through the Local Authority (LA) – Lincolnshire County Council – and parents are encouraged to use the online service to apply for a school place: School Admissions – apply for a school place.
To start in our Reception class in September 2024, the online application service opened on 15 November 2023 and closed nationally at midday on 15 January 2024. However, Lincolnshire’s final closing date for late applications and changes was midday on 9 February 2024 (your application may not be accepted if you apply to schools outside of Lincolnshire).
The national offer day for primary schools is 16 April 2024.
On 17 April 2024, admissions re-open for late applications or changes.
On 17 May 2024, admissions close.
after 3 June 2024, the main allocation process ends and all further applications are dealt with on at least a weekly basis.
For all other year groups at any time of year, please contact the school office first on 01526 832060 or email enquiries@winchelsea.lincs.sch.uk to ensure that there are vacancies available in the relevant year group. Once you have applied via the LA and been offered a place, please contact the school office again who will provide you with a school’s admission pack for completion before your child starts. We will also require sight of your child’s birth certificate to verify your child’s age. Please note the information you provide on our admission form is for the school’s pupil database.
The Lincolnshire County Council School Admissions Team can be contacted for all your general enquiries and to request an application pack if you do not have access to a computer (however, please note, if you do not have access to a computer but would still like to apply online, contact the school office to arrange a convenient time to come in to school for a member of staff to assist you with your application):

If a place is refused, School Admissions Appeals are also co-ordinated through the LA and parents are encouraged to use the online service to appeal – Appeal a decision – how to appeal.
Deadline for an appeal for a primary school place is 14 May 2024.
