We aspire for children attending our Nursery to be confident individuals that are interested to investigate and explore. Through their exploration they develop an interest in learning which will help them to develop and progress.

We aspire to build independence. This will include

    • Supporting self- care skills such as washing hands and their own toilet needs.
    • Supporting physical skills such as putting on their own coat and shoes
    • Supporting snack and mealtimes, promoting healthy choices and social discussions
    • Developing resilience to encounter new environments, experiences and individuals

We aspire to design environments with the children in mind. This will include

    • Role play areas which promote language and communication skills, exploring ideas and feelings
    • Reading areas where children can listen to and share favourite nursery rhymes and stories, using puppets and props to retell and discuss
    • Areas to explore and promote investigation and curiosity, areas to promote questions and wonder.
    • Opportunities to work with other, to collaborate and share ideas, to take turns and compromise

We aspire to build confidence. This will include

    • Ensuring a sense of pride and ownership in their classroom.
    • Allowing children roles within the classroom they are proud of and giving them responsibilities
    • Encouraging children to share ideas about their areas of interest and what they would like to learn next
    • Encouraging them to support each other, celebrating individual strengths and appreciating that these will be different according to the individual

We aspire to give your child the best start we can, adapting transition according to previous experiences and the needs of individuals. We ensure a strong partnership between home and school, working together to meet the emotional and physical needs of your child.
